It is with sincere gratitude that A.U.H. Inc thanks the African Union and the United Nations for their invitation to join our Afrikan families on the 45th year anniversary celebration of the formation of the African Union formally Organization of African Unity. It was inspiring to see so many Afrikans from the Continent and Diaspora in a room in such a festive mode with no hint of differences but a spirit of peaceful coexistence and interaction. These behaviors if practiced on our continent as a whole would result to a progressive future. As was stated by the theme of the program, “Africa the future is ours”, the future can only be ours if we create a sovereign and united Afrika for our Afrikan children. Today Afrikan Unity is still of vital importance for the future generations of Afrikans just as it was in the founding of the O.A.U.
Although there has been gains in advancement and development on our Continent there is still a lot of work left to be done in establishing one united Afrika. Goals set by the inaugural O.A.U. are yet to be met by the present Afrikan Union. The unity of our Afrikan nation will not be possible if advised and guided by non Afrikan peoples who do not have the best interest of Afrikan peoples in mind, only there to participate in garthering ideas and resources for their own peoples and country’s welfare. Unity of the Afrikan Continent must be based on Afrikan initiatives. In order to have unity we must be willing to sit down with one another to discuss our common issues resulting in collective resolutions. Leaders of the Afrikan nation and peoples all must be willing to cut the fake made to market propaganda of our history and who we are as a people, which have only been told to us by those who have chosen to demarcate our lands placing names over us for personal ruler ship. We as a nation of people must not continue to place choppy history in our minds or call ourselves by colonial names due to the demarcation of our Continent, and finally wash our hearts, minds, and spirits clean from any pervious notions dictated to us by colonial rule which we now use in our mouths to speak and call ourselves by the names to only give power to those who created it.
In return we create a confused people who appear not to know who they are as one nation of peoples or how to stand as men and women to govern our own peoples and destinies. This is apparently the case in our beloved South Afrika were Afrikans are killing Afrikans saying they are immigrants. This mentality has to be stopped. Because of the long hash years of apartheid our beloved peoples in South Africa are now turning in on their Afrikan people as they did to fight off the Colonial European rule. This is what is happening all over Afrika. This shows us that the system and polices set in place through colonial rule are still present and we are now operating these systems and polices fulfilling colonial interest by our own hand and on our own Afrikan peoples.
Afrikan Unity of Harlem, Inc recognizes these mental elements which need to be broken in this 21st Century in order for our posterity to poster in their land, with their languages, resources, culture and one true story from and by we the Afrikan peoples. History does and continues to prove that no matter what language, no mater where we were born, no mater what religion we may practice, we are one Afrikan People home on the continent and aboard in the Diaspora.
Thank you, again for the efforts made to seize the unity of our people. May the spirit of our great ancestors guides us as we continue to work together on the implementation of unity to create one united Afrikan.
Most Respectfully
